Access & control
Set the boundaries before you roll out AI.
Configure who can see client work, which device operations they can use and how knowledge is shared. Test those choices as part of the pilot.

Employee, site or client scope
Employees follow their own requests. Site managers can access tickets and devices at their assigned sites. Client admins can have client-wide visibility; client-admin access is read-only by default, with role add-ons for additional capabilities.
Delegate device capabilities deliberately
Endpoint operations and remote-connect permissions are separate role add-ons. Grant the functions the client needs. Portal terminals and history stay with technicians.
Treat knowledge as a separate access decision
Client scope determines which client’s sources are used. Portal access to External articles requires the Knowledge base role add-on. Internal articles remain available to the AI: do not use the Internal label to hide confidential material from AI answers.
Plan client knowledge sources →Carry permissions into connected AI apps
ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot Studio connections use each person’s NetZen identity. Their tools respect current roles. Confirm what may be returned to the external workspace and revoke access when it is no longer needed.
Questions MSPs ask
Do not assume that. Ticket and device access, client source scope, and portal article visibility are distinct controls. Review source contents before ingestion; the Internal article label does not prevent the assistant from using that content.
Use representative employee, site-manager and client-admin accounts. Check allowed and denied tickets and devices, source scope, external workspace access, approval behavior and human handoff before inviting the wider client organization.
From an MSP using NetZen
“What impressed me was NetZen's ability to integrate the AI into the ticketing, have it triage the request and help diagnose the machines.”
