A first managed AI service
$3,000
One-time implementation
$1,000
Per client organization / month
One initial knowledge and IT-support use case, an agreed maintenance allowance, and a clear path to your support team.
Suggested starting ranges: US$2,500–$5,000 setup and US$750–$1,500 per client/month. Adjust for delivery effort, service coverage and client needs.
Illustrative pricing to test with clients, not a market average, NetZen fee or earnings promise. Taxes and optional external software are separate.
What the implementation fee covers
Scope one initial use case, prepare client-approved knowledge, configure access and a supported channel, test answers and handoffs, and onboard users. Quote extensive document cleanup, custom development and service-desk migration separately.
What the monthly service covers
Agree a knowledge-update allowance, access changes, answer and handoff reviews, and human support coverage. Define response targets, included hours and out-of-scope rates. Keep support already covered by the client’s managed IT agreement in that agreement.
Scale by service scope
More workflows, more complex sources or greater support demand may need a different client-level agreement. Adding an employee does not create a NetZen end-user AI seat fee. Optional external AI licenses can still be charged per user.
Keep three costs clear
- Your managed service: the implementation, upkeep and agreed support you sell to the client.
- Your NetZen subscription: standard list price US$100 per technician/month, with AI included. Allocate the platform cost across the services you deliver. See current pricing and offers.
- Optional external AI: the client’s ChatGPT, Claude or Microsoft subscriptions and applicable usage charges. These are separate from native NetZen AI.
How public AI prices affect the conversation
Clients may already pay for general-purpose AI. Position your fee around the service you implement and maintain, with human support, and account for the tools they keep.
| Public AI product | Annual billing | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Business | $20/user/month | $25/user/month |
| Claude Team | $20/user/month | $25/user/month |
Copilot Chat is included with eligible Microsoft 365 plans. Other Copilot capabilities and Copilot Studio have licensing and usage terms. These products are not equivalent to the managed service above; do not assume every existing license can be replaced.
Check the economics before you quote
Monthly price = delivery cost ÷ (1 − target gross margin).
For example, US$400 in monthly delivery costs at a target 60% gross margin gives a US$1,000 monthly price. Include loaded labour, allocated platform costs, any external usage and a support reserve. This is a planning example, before overhead and taxes.
Questions MSPs ask
The setup and monthly service figures are illustrative prices for your MSP to charge a client. They are not NetZen fees, validated market averages or a promise of revenue. NetZen’s platform subscription is priced per technician.
Only when the client’s actual requirements and costs support that comparison. Clients may already have AI included in existing licenses, or retain other AI tools for writing, research and specialist work. Compare the agreed service outcome and total costs.
From an MSP using NetZen
“What impressed me was NetZen's ability to integrate the AI into the ticketing, have it triage the request and help diagnose the machines.”
